Job Description:

Our Events team writes proposals for events and manages the planning, development and execution of those events. The Events team works with our organizational partners and events of our shared programs, particularly our Makersville Brand Ambassador and Young Ambassador programs. 

  • Develop and maintain a grants calendar for grant applications
  • Understand the needs of our Makersville and Young Ambassadors programs and write grants in support of our Makers and Ambassadors.
  • Write grants for events in support of our Makers and Ambassadors.
  • Plan, develop and support events that gather our Makers and Ambassadors.
  • Plan, develop and support events benefiting our secondary community: Families 
  • Interact with our families at one or more of our Makerspaces (in Shoreline Village or at the Shaun Lumachi Innovation Center at 3rd and Pine or at a local supported library or Park)
  • Interact with our resident Makers, learning what they do, acting as secondary support for the makers.
  • Support our Makers, working on a team with Maker Coaches:
    • Plan and support events at which our Makers appear. (including campaigns for events)
    • Provide social media support for Makers and events.
    • Advocate for our Makers and projects/programs

Qualifications:

Age 18+ 

Knowledge of Windows suite, Google Suite.

Interested in hands-on learning and doing and developing skills in sewing, LEGO, robotics, website content management, publishing.

Polite, respectful, attentive, pro-active with good work ethic

Own transportation preferred but not required

Own laptop preferred

Ability to work independently to research projects (YouTube, Internet) and work through problems to find solutions.

Our open schedule: Tues/Thurs 10AM to 6:30PM Tues/Thurs Friday 3:00 – 7:00PM (Your role in support of our open schedule may adjust upon agreement)

Schedule may adjust on scheduled event weeks.
